Fashion Designer Rohit Bal Critical, On Ventilator Support
Born in Srinagar, Rohit started his career in 1996 as one of the most celebrated fashion designers in India.
Rohit Bal is currently fighting a critical health condition and has been given ventilation support in the intensive care support at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
Bal, who is currently 62, was struggling with an alcohol addiction and has been going in and out of rehab. In the last year, in November, Bal’s condition took a horrible turn, which made it necessary for him to get admitted to Medanta Hospital.
In the year 2010, Bal also suffered a critical heart attack, which needed an emergency angioplasty.
Rohit Bal is the winner of the “Designer of the Year” award at the Indian Fashion Awards in 2006. He also won the Kingfisher Fashion Achievement Award in 2001. His prestigious works were recognized in 2012, and he got the title of Lakme Grand Finale Designer.
