Although cafes were initially introduced as a conversation starter, the American cafe culture was somewhat different as propagated by local cafes like the Nordstrom Cafe in Kansas. The American cafe culture is associated with quantity and space, two things very different from ideas of comfort and relaxation.
Research tells us while the average European drinks 5 to 6 espressos, Americans drink 9 to 10 cups of espressos for getting through a weekday. More than coffee, places like the Nordstrom cafe bistro are also great places for conducting meetings with colleagues and interns alike. But then again, it’s all about the speed and quantity.
The cafe culture gripped the world a decade ago, but the trend is still here. It makes us often question, why are we so obsessed with cafes? However, figuring out that at the moment is not vital. Instead, let’s discuss the famous Nordstrom cafe in Kansas and why you must visit the location!

Nordstrom Cafe: Best Reviews
As a brand that has survived the tough and aggressively competing cafe industry in Kansas for many years, Nordstrom Cafe has earned its fair share of reviews on Google from consumers across the world. Check out a few of our favorite reviews!
Review By Breanne07 from Overland Park, Kansas:
“This was a fun cafe, I was so happy to learn they had a few gluten-free items, including pasta. I enjoyed the spicy shrimp pasta with gluten-free noodles. I did have a bit of spice but not super spicy. I love that after you go through the cafeteria-like line, they bring your food to you, and there is a server that refills your water.
They said they sometimes have gluten-free desserts, so for a Saturday, which I think would be a busy day, they didn’t have any this day. It was nice after some shopping we went upstairs and got to sit down and enjoy some lunch and fun talking. We had an early lunch, but as we were leaving, it was getting busier.”
Review By Stacey L from Lenexa, Kansas:
“It’s been years since I’ve eaten at Nordstrom Cafe in the Nordstrom store and it didn’t disappoint!! NC is a hidden gem! The food is ordered and paid for in cafeteria style yet they have table service like white linen tablecloth restaurants. The food is delicious and our waiter, Sage, was on top of everything we needed. I highly recommend it.”
Review By Jan F from Kansas City, Missouri:
“Shopping with my grandsons. Always been a treat to have lunch at Nordstrom’s Cafe. The food is fresh, and the salads are fantastic. Kids got Mac and cheese. Way beyond Kraft’s blue box. Let the boys pick out a dessert. The staff is friendly and helpful with small children. End with the complimentary chocolate mint sticks.
A tradition that I remember as a special experience with my mother. Please keep your Cage. Special memories. Even if it was justice tea and a dessert while deciding on those shoes to buy or not buy!”

Review By Farah B from Kansas City, Missouri:
“TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CAFE!!! Had a horrible experience today. Took my daughter to this cafe to have a coffee to relax after a long shopping spree at the mall. Ordered from Lesley-the server, and to her negligence and professionalism, burned my daughter with a hot drink by not closing the lid all the well when my daughter took a sip from her cup that spilled on her chest and gave her first-degree burn.
Lesley was not apologetic, did not care to show any empathy towards my daughter, did not take care to take control of the situation, in fact, ignored us the whole time while we were asking for help and kept assisting other customers. Practically just ignored us!”
